Finally, the temperature is warming up, which means one thing ladies – it’s time to let the footsies out! Don’t get me wrong, I love everything about shoes in the winter from rocking fabulous boots to a spunky pair of heels. But, when the spring season arrives, I’m ready to let my feet, toes and ankles out. As the saying goes, for everything there is a season.
Within my closet are the usually suspects from wedges, to strappy heels, a few thong sandals and even gladiators from last summer, which I will be getting another round out of for this summer. So, when it comes to considering new styles that would make great additions to my closet this season it got me to thinking about mules and Birkenstock styles. The thought of Birkenstock’s actually didn’t stick to well. I know it’s a style that all of us “fashion gals” are supposed to love, however, this is a shoe design that I just can’t with at all. While I do realize that the overall feeling and theme of Spring/Summer 2014 trends is about laid back chic – the Birkenstock is actually easy on the feet, but not really easy on the eyes.
For the warmer months, I would much prefer the heeled mule which offers comfort and flexibility – hands down. But if you actually are seeking comfort and looking for something to kick around in while at the park or on the beach, then the Birkenstock might not be that bad for YOU. However, if you’re looking to keep your look casual and turn it up slightly without going ultra glam – the heeled mule is the choice worth considering.
